Enzo | Pizza for Breakfast in Manchester City Centre

review enzo manchester

Enzo, Manchester, 20 Fountain Street, M2 2AA.

Last weekend I joined some other bloggers for brunch at Enzo in Manchester’s city centre. This place is an absolute (kind of hidden) gem. It’s literally just off Market Street, behind Primark, which makes it the perfect stop off for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you’re hitting the shops. Their coffee is lush too, I had my usual soy flat white and it was perfect. But it was the brunch menu that really had me intrigued!

We arrived at 11:15 am and it was getting quite busy, most people taking refuge from the cold and snow and sipping on hot coffees watching the snow pour down through the huge floor to ceiling windows.

Other locations in the Enzo fam

Although Enzo is now in central Manchester, they actually started somewhere a lot smaller… Nantwich, which is very close to where I live. Their Nantwich coffee shop and pizza-place is lovely, quaint and serves lush cakes too. They also own a long-running Italian restaurant in Crewe, very close to the station, so these guys know a thing or two about pizza…

So, with that in mind, how could I resist trying one of their breakfast pizzas?! I mean, I love pizza at the best of times and am always up for eating it cold the next day… But a freshly cooked pizza specifically designed for breakfast? YES, PLEASE!

My favourite toppings for pizza are always veggie, and their veggie Egg Florentine pizza did not disappoint.  I had the 9″ which was the perfect size (I was very hungry) but there is also a 12″ available which I imagine would be great to share, or if you’re feeling mega hungry.

Breakfast pizza: you have to try this 🍕

Honestly, this was one of the most original, tasty and satisfying breakfasts I’ve eaten out for ages. Don’t get me wrong, I love avo and eggs on toast, but what Enzo have to offer with this menu is something really different which I love!

The egg (just look at it) was cooked to perfection, and the base was thin, crispy on the bottom and the toppings and sauce were so fresh. There are 5 to chose from in total and if you don’t fancy one of the breakfast pizza, you can choose anything from breakfast muffins to mushrooms on toast, all with GF and vegan options, too.

Overall I think Enzo offers great value too. My breakfast pizza was £6.5 and coffee £2.4, I mean you can’t argue with that for a reasonable price. Especially for fresh, home-cooked scran and quality Italian coffee!

New menu now available

The menu is changing slightly, but don’t worry, all the classics are still there and if anything they’re more adding to the offering than taking away. They’re also offering more of a table service now too, which I think is great, as given their location, people just want to sit down and relax in between hitting the dreaded shops! Oh, and at Christmas time, they serve an exceptionally delicious mulled wine, too 🎄✨❄️☃️

If you wanna book in at Enzo, then all their details are over on their Twitter page @EnzoExperience or website, www.enzouk.com. Or give them a call 0161 413 0582. They’re at 20 Fountain Street, Manchester M2 2AA – just around the corner from Primark!

I was invited to Enzo as part of a bloggers brunch event to sample their food and coffee and take a look at the new menu. As always, opinions are honest and my own 🍕
